Review: Lush American Cream Conditioner

What the company website claims about the product: Double-strength conditioning cocktail. American Cream was inspired by a vision of 1950s US milk bars, bright red-leather-and-chrome, neon-lit cafes, where teenagers would meet and drink frothy, fruity, thick, creamy milkshakes. Our fruity, creamy conditioner is what the girls would have used to make their hair soft and strokeable before going out on a date, dressed up in their bobby socks and circular skirts. The scent of honey, vanilla, strawberries and oranges is so sexy and sweet that dates can't stay away. If your hair gets a bit messed up, American Cream makes it easy to brush through and smooth out again.

Price & Quantity: 970 INR for 250 ml approx.

My Side of the Story So Far: I recently bought this after getting bored with my regular HG conditioner aka Dove Intense Therapy Conditioner. There was no problem with it actually. But then , a girl cant be happy with one ...right?? So then I started sniffing various bottles at the Lush Store here in my city. The right fragrance does matter a lot especially to people who can sniff like mutts, that includes me too... The SA advised that as this was a double strength conditioner it would definitely make my hair very very very soft. I fell for it and the smell..... The first thing I noticed that this baby smells AMAZING!!! Really really heavenly. I used it the same day i bought it and then all the hooplah about this product washed down the drain..literally!! Forget moisturization, this helped enormously in tangling my waist length hair and detangling all of that was quiet some task..phew!

Not only that, post drying my hair felt like hay...dry, coarse and rough to touch. To salvage the situation I had to pump in dollops of hair serum ..which definitely did a better job than the Oh so Famous Lush American Cream at about 1/8th the cost...And that is where I headed back to my ever precious Dove Intensity Hair Conditioner.

I use it these days as the following:
  • Face Wash- good for winters
  • Body Wash- the smell really lingers on and does a decent job of moisturization
  • Room Freshener- my bathroom really smells well after this.

My Verdict: If you are really looking forward to a good face/body wash and a very expensive room freshener do pick it up. Otherwise if you are looking for a hair conditioner steer clear out of this product. I am very disappointed with this product and feel my money has literally been wasted. Then again, this is my view and my experience. You may have different tales to tell but I would certainly not recommend this.

Do share you story too... :)

NYX Java Chrome Eyeshadow

I was just strolling in Garuda Mall the other day when my eyes fell on this temptress..NYX loose pigments!!!

For the make up uninitiated this would be a loose mineral powder which basically arms any make up addict to go to explore beyond the said norms...meaning you can experiment with this much to your hearts content.

I color I selected is called Java Chrome Eyeshadow. Here is a photographic representation of it.

It is an iridescent golden greenish loose powder that can be applied as an eyeshadow. I however had other ideas.

Lips- I mixed it a little vaseline and voila I have a lovely lip gloss at my disposal.

Highlighter- The same goes to highlight the eyebrow bone

Bronzer- This is the best of all. It acts as a bronzer when applied to the apple of the cheeks. Gives it a nice sun kissed complexion. This would also do well for night time looks.

Price: 480 INR

Good reasons for buying this:

1. You can experiment with loose pigments
2. Only a little amount is needed to blend in
3. The greenish golden shimmer is amazingly radiant and gives the face a nice sun kissed complexion.
4. It does not settle in the fine lines of lips and eye lids.
5. I have sensitive skin and there were no break outs or irritation

Now for the not so good reasons:
1. Its difficult to take the product out from the jar. Its advisable to use a plastic spatula or spoon rather than using a brush as the latter has a lot of fall outs.
2. Availability of the brand
